The Department works on the following issues
- verification of methods for determining the predicted directions of critical planes and determining the fatigue life of engineering plastics at multi-axis random loads,
- periodic assessment of the current state of research on multi-axis fatigue of engineering plastics and machine elements,
- analysis of elastic-brittle, elastic-plastic and intermediate materials under conditions of complex states of tense and strain,
- influence of average load values on the fatigue life under tension-compression conditions and the bending-torsion combination,
- description of accumulation of damage in random fatigue,
- mixed methods of fatigue cracking of materials and structures,
- tests of fatigue and static strength of layered materials, welded using the explosive method,
- analysis of the fatigue strength of materials used in the power industry,
- deformation analysis of thin-walled axially symmetrical shells loaded with internal pressure or axial tensile force and determination of the load capacity of the above-mentioned structures,
- testing of composite materials.
